Can­dler Park is a 9 hole exec­u­tive course locat­ed in the Can­dler Park, near the Vir­ginia-High­land and Lit­tle Five Points neigh­bor­hoods in Atlanta, GA. From the longest tees it offers 2,064 yards of golf for a par of 31. The course was designed by Helen Smith and opened in 1927.  Recent­ly nat­u­ral­iza­tion of the creek that splits the course has brought beavers, hawks, rac­coon, ducks and herons back and they are often vis­i­ble while walk­ing the course.


Based in South­west Atlanta at the John A. White Golf Course, The First Tee of Atlanta is a non­prof­it orga­ni­za­tion ded­i­cat­ed to teach­ing Atlanta youth life and golf skills in a seam­less fash­ion. The First Tee of Atlanta was found­ed in 2000 and is a chap­ter of The First Tee, an inter­na­tion­al youth pro­gram cre­at­ed by the World Golf Foun­da­tion in 1997.

Locat­ed just four miles from down­town Atlanta, The Char­lie Yates Golf Course at East Lake is a 9-hole, Par 30, mid-length course with Bermu­da fair­ways and Bent grass greens.

Designed by famed golf course archi­tect Rees Jones, The Yates Course offers a mix of chal­leng­ing Par 3′s and 4′s and is locat­ed in the heart of the award win­ning East Lake com­mu­ni­ty.


The Decatur Parks and Recre­ation Depart­ment is a depart­ment of the local munic­i­pal gov­ern­ment oper­at­ed by a per­ma­nent, full-time staff with the assis­tance of a vol­un­teer cit­i­zens advi­so­ry board. Board appoint­ments are made by the City Coun­cil for a term of five years.
