Atlanta ContactPoint (ACP) Hosts Mother’s Day Play Day in Grant Park

Just For Mom – FREE Massages, Yoga classes and Acupuncture care of Café of Life

ATLANTA—On Sunday, May 12, Atlanta ContactPoint (ACP) will host its next PLAY DAY at Grant Park. The event is a special Play Day with a dedication to Mom which will run from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. ACP will partner with a number of community-based organizations to offer attendees over 20 different types of free activities in an effort to promote healthy living for happier communities. Atlanta ContactPoint is an organization bringing more sports, activities, and health to the in-town communities of Atlanta.

Established in 2012, ACP seeks to engage children and adults through the power of play, education of nutrition and community involvement. ACP’s vision is to provide Atlanta’s in town communities with a state-of-the art, indoor and outdoor recreation space where families of all socio-economic backgrounds can come together to play and learn; the PLAY DAY series is a precursor to the creation of such a space.

For this Grant Park event ACP has teamed up with Café of Life, Grant Park Farmer’s Market, the Hawks Fan Force, Braves B.A.T Team, Atlanta Sport and Social Club, Grant Park Recreation Center, and many more organizations to bring you Mother’s Day Play Day!

Other activities include tennis, hockey, skating, basketball, volleyball, football, soccer, ultimate, dance, rugby, baseball, fitness, disc golf, unicycles, kickball, and MORE!

Our first Play Day in Candler Park drew more than 600 attendees that were engaged in many sports and wellness activities. We realized after that event that our vision of going into various communities in Atlanta was going to be a success,” says Shannon Goines, co-founder of ACP. “These Play Days have become our mobile programs; examples of what we would like to offer to the city at a home-base. Our proposed location of Pullman Yard is a perfect place to implement this plan, and it is in alignment with programs both the city and state are executing  to help fight obesity in Georgia. ACP is also very focused on connecting with organizations that are sports/nutrition and environmental centered, as well as those involved in social needs.”
